About You
The Barclays Technology Spring Programme is really dynamic, very informative and the organisation is great. I shadowed a tech employee and got really helpful insight into his daily work and he answered all of my questions. I also networked with other employees, some of them were senior managers. The opportunity to get advice from such experienced and successful people was incredible. We attended different sessions and worked on a really interesting group project. The venue was also great and we could see London from the top of skyscrapers. I had an amazing time with the other interns.
I definitely felt valued as a great number of employees interrupted their busy schedule and attended our programme. We could network with managers from different divisions and ask them questions. All of them were really helpful and gave thorough answers. We could shadow developers and business analysts and learn about their work in Barclays as well.
I received a lot of support - I had all of my questions answered by the senior managers, the employees we were shadowing and the presenters in the sessions. The recruiters were always there to help if anything was unclear or there was a problem. The students were really supportive during the group project as well.
The different sessions at the Barclays Technology Spring Programme gave us lots of information about the current and future trends in technology. We learned about the history of the sector too. We also had the opportunity to develop our transferable skills by making presentations in front of professionals and working on a group project.
The Company
The Technology Spring Week at Barclays was definitely very well organised. There was an app which showed us our schedule and descriptions of the different sessions. We could also give feedback after each session and find information about anything related to the Programme. The structure of each day was clear and each event started on time. The recruiters did an amazing job at making sure everything runs smoothly during the events.
The atmosphere was amazing - the employees were very helpful and did their best to make us feel valued. The students attending the Technology Spring Programme were friendly, eager to meet their peers and to learn as much as possible about Barclays and what it is like to work there.
It was really helpful as we had the opportunity to talk to people that had recently gone through the summer internship and were now woking there as graduates. We were given another aspect as some of the presenters were senior managers, who have worked at Barclays for a significant amount of time and who described their career in the company.
It helped a lot - we were told the main values of Barclays, many details about its environment and what it looks for and expects from its employees. Also, a great number of the presenters answered that one of the most enjoyable aspects of working at Barclays are the people.
Everything Else
Yes - there were a number of networking sessions with senior managers and employees at various positions. In addition, we had a sessions in groups of two with an analyst and a developer. Also, all of the presenters in the different sessions about the divisions in Barclays were available for any questions we have about their work or the bank in general.
Yes, some of the presenters said there were different sports clubs that employees could join - for example the football club and the cricket club which have weekly events. Some of the employees even experienced a sport for the first time - one of the presenters did a water sport he had never tried before.
Yes, I would definitely recommend the Barclays Technology Spring Programme to students. It was an incredible experience as it was really useful, well planned, informative and dynamic. I had the opportunity to meet lots of very interesting people, learn about the company and get advice from some of its successful employees.
