About You
I really enjoy the insight, it totally fits my expectation. I get to know what my skills and passion align with. I know more about the industry I want to work in and how the different business areas are actually. The whole insight is really informative and the learning opportunity is very valuable.
I feel valued when I get to learn so much at the company. During my time at the company, all my doubts and questions are solved and also learn a lot from the case study and panels etc etc. The learning process at the company is something I will never forget.
The insight gives me strong support at all time. For example, during case study, we get assigned a representative at each table. If you have any doubts or some financial terms you don't understand, you could just ask them right away. The HR team also gives us strong support to walk through the interview.
The skills I developed and the information I received will assist me in my future career. Now I could learn the skills in prior such as how to value a company. The information I received will help me to think of if I am capable of working in this industry.
The Company
The insight is super well structured which for the first day is the general session which we know the basic stuff and having the networking session. For the next two days are divdied into banking and market which really helps me to determine which sector I am more interested in. The last day is the assessment day.
The general atmosphere is super good here. People here are really nice and friendly. You could just approach them easily. Also, everyone of us is passionate and eager to learn, it gives a strong and good learning environment. People here are not too competitive but we help each other to learn and work as a team.
I totally understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm. For the panels and overview session, the full time employee will tell us the day-to-day work, what they are working on and how is it like to work here and also their own feeling.
Everything Else
I was paid adequately for this experience. Actually I just come to learn, I don't expect to get paid. It is so generous of Barclays to give us money and a value opportunity to learn at the same time. It also portrays how good Barclays treating their employees and how they value their future talents.
Yes, we have unlimited opportunities for networking. Every session we get to network with employees. We get the networking session for the first night which we get to meet the directors. Every day's lunch is a networking lunch where we can meet employees from different business sectors. You can just reach out the employees even after the insight.
I would definitely recommend this insight to a friend especially if they are still puzzled on their future path. Many of us may want to work at the investment banking area not knowing what it really likes. But I am sure that if you join this insight, you will definitely know what investment banking truly is.
