Spring Technology Intern Review

I thoroughly enjoyed the Barclays Spring Technology Week. I have managed to gain valuable experience from Barclays which I believe I will be able to apply in during my university experience and my future career. It was a great opportunity to meet new people from different backgrounds.

During the week that I spent with Barclays, I personally believe that I was treated as a potential candidate to further succeed my career path in Barclays. Furthermore I have been given the opportunity to be interviewed for a summer internship with Barclays which demonstrates the value the firm has for the younger generation.

Throughout the Barclays Spring Insight Week, I believe I received a suitable amount of support and guidance from a range of different stakeholder in the company. I had the opportunity to seek advice from graduates who have been on the same process that I would like to encounter in the future.

I believe I have developed my soft skills throughout the week which I will be able to apply in the real world. In addition to this working with individuals from different background allowed me to adapt my skill set.

The Barclays Spring Technology Insight week was organised by Amy Donner and Katie Byrne. The week was packed with relevant and insightful sessions regarding Barclays in terms of technology. This included interactive sessions that would encourage team building exercises and presentations from seniors who have dedicated their time in the firm to create opportunities to RISE.

Personally, I have had a positive experience during my insight week. The general atmosphere has been very uplifting, which has encouraged engagement within individuals and groups.

For personal development we had a session from IDG who taught us the key skills for teamwork and how different personality traits work together.

The insight helped me to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm because two week shadowing sessions were carried out throughout the week in two potential career paths in terms of technology analyst or developer role.
