    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • The insight was very helpful towards getting a general idea on how Barclays manages technology in Glasgow. I really enjoyed how they put us in groups and tried to connect us with loads of senior people to help and inspire us to stay with Barclays. It was a great experience and would definitely recommend it to others.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Barclays had invested a lot of time and money into this spring week. Everything was very thoroughly organised and it was brought to the perfection standard. Throughout the week there was no time I felt like there is an issue or that something is not right. The resources Barclays has invested in this spring week made me feel appreciated and valued.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • During the insight we got a lot of sessions in which we did a lot of work shadowing and we were taught how to react when interviewed. Some of the recruiters were even helping us with technical details. What I really appreciated during this spring week was also the availability to reaching out to people from the company and ask them a lot of questions in regards to the company.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I feel like this week has really helped me improve my interview skills and it was a great experience for the next following job interviews. Part of the spring week was also to realise and to improve our presentation skills and our personal brand which I personally thought was very good.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight was pretty structured, every day we had a schedule we were following with two or three presentations per day from different people from different teams. It was good to take part in all of them. Also the way they managed to fit everything and not have a single clash between events together was impressive.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was absolutely amazing. everyone was so friendly and I made so many friends. And that was possible because of the relaxed environment they built around us and how they managed to stick everyone together. It was indeed a great and enjoyable experience and I really felt like I was in a friends group rather than in an internship.

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • The company has done an amazing job with training in my opinion. On one of the days, a motivational speaker came along and did a leadership and personal skills training and it was so inspiring. A lot of events they organised for us with a lot of seniors and important people which gave me the feel that they really care about us.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The internship really gave me a thorough perspective on how Barclays manages its employees and how it tries to help everyone in the workplace to gain as many skills as possible. Apart from that we did two work shadowing sessions which were really helpful and informative into how to deal with work and how nice is to work at Barclays.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight was very company values focused and how to approach the work environment in the office. I was really impressed on how much they managed to get us to get a general idea on and that really helped with choosing a future career perspective whether or not will work in Barclays.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • The content was actually very valuable and we got to be presented a lot of interesting things that we didn't know about Barclays. Because of the great organisation and great services they provided, there was a general positive vibe around the room and everyone felt comfortable with asking for more information about the company
