About You
Really enjoyable and engaging week which was a lot of fun! Had the chance to get lots of insights and group activities so that balance made the week very fun.
Felt very valued. Surprised by how many people invested time in teaching and work shadowing.
Received good support but equally there was time for independent work as well.
Skills not necessarily helpful for degree but applicable to communicating and interacting beyond studies.
The Company
App was used very well to give each person an agenda and where to be and when.
Very friendly atmosphere, everyone worked and socialised together which was good fun.
Both insight sessions into tech at Barclays and personal development sessions in leadership and interview training was extremely useful and the team invested a lot of time in these areas.
Overall at some points we didn’t have a clear insight into the specific roles but the chance to work shadow for 3 hours changed that.
The company values and culture was highlighted by almost every speaker and sounded very positive.
Got a look into the two internship roles available which helped make the decision between them easier (things such as grad networking, work shadowing etc).
Everything Else
Received payment and train fare
Lots of opportunities to network with varying levels of seniority within Barclays including sessions and shadowing.
Had an informal pizza and drinks networking interview and then also a more formal grad interview speed dating session.
Heard about different charitable employee challenges and team building that employees work on.
Would definitely recommend to a friend but they must have a keen interest in technology specifically and be willing to engage with the role fully.
