About You
It was extremely helpful and insightful to an industry I didn't know too much about. It was a very fun week as well with a wide range of different activities and different topics covered. I was quite nervous before coming into it, but that quickly disappeared when it had started
Everyone at Barclays made me feel very at home and welcome. Everyone was extremely nice and friendly. It really felt as though we were wanted to be here and the effort put into organising everything showed that we were important to them. I was very happy with how the company treated me.
I was very supported, if I ever needed anything I could ask for help and we weren't really left in the dark about anything, there was good communication to us. We were guided very well throughout the week in everything we were doing so there was no need to be nervous about not knowing what you're doing
It's an industry I didn't know that much about and I got a very good insight into how a business like this runs, and I was pushed outside my comfort zone and learned some essentially communication skills with activities such as networking with graduates and other workers. This should be helpful for my university.
The Company
I would say the structure of the insight was generally very good. We were eased in and shown what the company was about and there were some activities early in the week to help us to get to know other people and become friends with them which set us up for the week well. Everything was planned out and executed seamlessly
For the most part it was constantly fun and exciting, of course throughout a week like this there were occasions when maybe the energy dropped because tiredness had started to set in a little bit, but generally everyone was extremely nice and happy to be a part of it and this was due to the way the company made us feel
It felt as though the company did really care about all the individuals on the week. There was a lot of effort put into the spring week, especially by our 2 organizers. It seemed like no corners had been cut and nothing had been done cheaply. Seems like a lot of resources were put into us.
This was extremely helpful. Not only did we get an insight into the ongoings of the company, we also had many opportunities to speak to employees of the company, and specifically grad employees who are extremely relevant to us and we could ask a lot of questions and basically all of them were answered.
One of the very first things that we were introduced to was the values and culture of the company, this was extremely important to them, and it immediately let us know what the company was actually like. And then when you got to speak to employees, you could see it wasn't just talk and the values were actually true
I'm not someone who has really known ever what they want to so or what sort of job they want, but Barclays have really shown off the kind of career you can have with them and it is very helpful, especially because they made a point of how many different roles you can try out.
Everything Else
Good pay
Several different opportunities, very good
A bit nerve-wracking but still very good
Many chances to talk to them about it
Absolutely
