The Role
The Work Placement - was throughly enjoyable with task I had not completed previously.
I was welcomed into the team on day one and made to fell like an invaluable member of the team during the placement.
I was provided with exceptional support and guidance by the team. Shoosmiths policy of 'the doors are always open' is like no other.
I was given sufficient work to complete and allowed almost free reign on closed case to read and review.
During the placement I attended two court hearings and was given the freedom and responsibility to ensure I was present at the correct court. I felt like I was a trusted team member from day one.
All the skills used will assist in providing an invalable base for developing my professional legal skills further.
The Company
The office was very friendly and welcoming however a divide between departments was evident.
There was an initial issue with the PC set up, other than that the placement was throughly organised.
I was coached and mentored to a very high level. The firm invested in me as if I were an actual Trainee.
National Travel
I sucessfully attained a Training Contract for 2013
The Culture
The team were welcoming although I was the only work placement at the time
London weighting applied which I was not used to at the time.
There were reports that the office was quite social and often had a weekly friday event.
None were offered.
