About You
It was a fantastic insight into the workings of the company and a great introduction to FinTech, with great emphases placed on social interaction which was extremely valuable and often very fun.
It felt like we were really wanted. For all the amount they talk about wanting to hire new people, it's another thing entirely to actually prove that they value us, and they have done so with a week that such a lot went into.
We received a fair amount of guidance on things and were always able to ask questions and clarifications. For the most part we were given a lot of independence.
A lot of the experiences of the week will serve me in very good stead in future, it has given me a great insight into what to expect from my employment in the future.
The Company
The insight was very well structured and organised. It was thoroughly timetabled and for the most part this proved accurate.
The atmosphere was fantastic. The other people on the course were far friendlier than I expected, and the entire feel of the company is friendly.
The company seemed to put a great deal into this spring week, from money to manpower, and successfully made it a very rewarding experience personally and professionally.
It was extremely handy for this as I had always wondered what my role would be and this week answered it in bucket loads.
The insight really drove home the nice, friendly, internally mobile atmosphere of Barclays.
This week essentially made my mind up for me. I had always considered fintech but I had no basis to choose it on, and now I do.
Everything Else
Expenses were paid.
There were many opportunities for networking including specific times set aside for it.
They were very well attended and thought out, and very valuable for asking graduates what they thought of things.
There was a limited discussion of outside work interests and activities.
This insight was fantastic and I'd recommend it to anyone considering fintech.
