About You
I really enjoyed the insight. It was very informative and helpful.
Barclays really cares about every single one of their employees feeling valued and important. They were no different with us.
There was a lot of support and help provided to us from the senior staff, recruitment officers and the grad students.
The insight was quite good for developing people skills as well as for gaining technical knowledge as there was a number of workshops and exercises involved.
The Company
The insight was extremely well organised. All of the sessions were very well timed out as well as they were all a pre-requisite to some of the work shadowing sessions.
Very relaxed, aimed towards us learning as much about Barclays as possible and figuring out if it is the right place for us, as well as the other way around.
We were given lectures and workshops to improve our interview skills, interpersonal skills, presentation skills etc.
The q&a sessions were quite useful to gaining an insight into how it is to actually work for Barclays, which was further supported by the work-shadowing sessions. I think throughout the week we got a good idea of what a full time job looks like.
Speaking to a wide variety of people was extremely helpful in understanding the culture. Actually visiting the offices was also of a great help.
Very valuable.
Everything Else
Networking opportunities included senior staff panel q&a session, senior staff networking evening and a graduates networking event.
The networking events were very useful, especially because they were laid back and a wide variety of employees was present so you could come up and ask questions to anyone.
A little bit of an insight was provided into this. Found out about the community work Barclays does outside of the office (can get days off to do some voluntary work).
Overall, the week was very insightful and I feel like I learned a lot about the business and Barclays’ values.
