About You
Overall, I enjoyed my time at Barclays and would recommend to any undergraduates possibly not interested in a finance career. I believe that the Barclays spring week helped me develop some new ideas and gave me some new motivation towards my degree and in addition my further career after university
I was made to feel very welcome by the whole of the Barclays staff and everybody I met inside the company. Everyone was very friendly and was welcoming. They all seemed to want to help and I felt valued by all members of staff I encountered. I was very pleased by this.
Support was always available from the members of staff guiding us through the week. They were helpful and brilliant sources of information and knowledge. They were also very open to answering any questions and giving us any advice they had, which was much appreciated. They were very supportive throughtout the week.
Not a lot of the information gained will help my actual degree, but it has given me a new sense of motivation towards my degree. I don't think you need any technical skills to undertake the programme and you would be no worse off if you don't come from a finance degree background.
The Company
The overall week was structured well. It was an intense week however still enjoyable. However, more information around schedules could've been provided before the spring week. It would've been nice to have the full schedule before we arrived, however the whole schedule was made available on the tuesday after making this clear.
Great atmosphere, a very welcoming and friendly and felt actually important. Didn't feel like they were just checking boxes, I felt valued by everyone I met. Barclays always push their values and say they make up their culture, which may seem exaggerated from the outside but tits very true when you work even for a week within Barclays.
The company invested heavily me and made feel very welcomed there was lots of opportunities, to meet multiple members of staff from lots of different work environments. This was helpful to me as i would not have had this experience had i not gone to the spring week so this was good.
The company invested heavily in me, and fully explained what the different pathways are at Barclays. The range of different summer internships in the different areas such as: customer banking solutions, business banking and savings investment and wealth management. This was useful as there was plenty of information that i could use for the future.
The insight gave me a deeper understanding of the company culture and how i might fit in to the Barclays learning environ ment . The week showed me how friendly and helpful everyone at barclays is and that there are no stupid questions and everyone will help you in the future.
It was very valuable as they explained thoroughly how the business at Barclays works and explained the different aspects such as: customer banking solutions, business banking and savings investment and wealth management. This was useful as there was plenty of information that i could use for the future. So very good
Everything Else
I was paid for my travel expenses from my home to the accommodation provided which was very good otherwise i would not have been able to come to the event due the expensive nature of arranging travel from my home location. I also enjoyed the expenses paid for by Barclays as it covered my tube fares.
Met employees from lots of different areas of the business such as: customer banking solutions, business banking and savings investment and wealth management. This was useful as there was plenty of information that i could use for the future. It was nice to meet so many people at different stages in their careers.

Yeah were spoken to by the life skills team who informed that no matter the divisions such as: customer banking solutions, business banking and savings investment and wealth management, there was an opportunity to help chairty and help people outside of the Barclays customer base, which is very l large.
Definitely a great insight into life at Barclays and a great experience to spend the week in London and canary wharf and you get to experience people from different areas such as: customer banking solutions, business banking and savings investment and wealth management. So yeah a great opportunity that should not be missed.
