About You
I’ve enjoyed the spring week quite a lot. It’s give me me a very good insight into the industry of banking. Coming here I was of the belief that a bank was a place where people tend to be very unwelcoming and every man is left to fend for themselves I was suprised to see this wasn’t the case with Barclays.
I feel as if the company tried there best to makes us feel as welcome as possible at the firm. When we had speakers come in they spoke to us as if we were the colleagues rather than treat us as student wasting their time especially when we done the graduate shadowing.
I feel as if the support system for the insight week has been carried out in an extremely good manner. There was not a single time during the placement well I’ve felt as if I haven’t had people to talk to about anything I may not understand or need help with.
I don’t really feel as if the spring week has really given any potential useful information to help with my degree but that does not mean that I haven’t learnt anything it’s just my degree and the spring week don’t really interlink as much. I don’t think a week has been long enough to develop new skills.
The Company
I feel as if the structuring of the insight week has been nothing short of amazing. There’s not been a single moment during this week where we’ve not been doing something or been engaged in an activity I also feel we it we’ve been given all the information we may need well In advanced which has helped me prepare.
The atmosphere of the cultural week has been very welcoming and an opportunity to learn about other. Whilst here I’ve engaged with people from all corners of the world as well as the UK it has allowed me to learn how to adapt to situations that in the past I may have avoided.
I feel as if we’ve been given a very good insight into understanding what life would be like working out Barclays especially when shadowing the graduates or when the previous interns came into speak to us all of them spoke with honesty and told us what the life and culture at Barclays would be like.

I feel as if the insight week has helped me understand the culture at Barclays quite well. We were given this opportunity mainly during the shadowing of the graduates. The graduates didn’t really hold back and try sell Barclays to us I think they gave us there honest opinion of how they found it.
The content of the day wasn’t necessarily important in allowing me to decide on exactly what I want to I’m the future however it has allowed me to understand what doesn’t necessarily interest me. For example when coming here I felt as if I could see myself working in wealth however I’ve learnt that it’s not what I want do at all.
Everything Else
I feel as if we weren’t necessarily given the opputnity to network as much as I would liked. For example we could’ve been given my chances to network more during the evenings by holding networking events, however I understand this may tend to be difficult to organise and get people to attend.
