    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • Very hands-on experience with the best training of the firms I've done spring insight programmes at. The learning on the job through the group project was one that I thoroughly enjoyed. Great balance with volunteering event, networking with employees/work shadowing opportunities and social events with the rest of the other spring interns.

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • During my time at the company, I felt highly valued with all employees willing to answer questions and help by taking time out of their days to not only have 'coffee chats' but also to assist with our group projects. Firm invested in training which was hugely valuable in conducting project.

    3/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • With limited knowledge of corporate finance, the project really pushed me out of my comfort zone and initially felt there was little guidance, especially given the complexities of the project. However, as time went on with training and help/discussion with analysts, I felt we were adequately supported and guided.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • Though the knowledge I obtained will not directly help me in my degree studies, a lot of the skills are transferable such as working in a group and paying great attention to detail. This will help me not only in my degree studies but also with my future career, even if I decide not to pursue a career in this industry.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Well structured, well planned schedule and range of insight to all different teams within the firm.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Very welcoming and approachable employees, willing to help with any queries. Everyone was hard-working throughout, which made staying "late" not even noticeable.

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • Demanding project throughout the week with an afternoon of training with external provider. Continuous mentoring, advice and help from all employees throughout.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • Difficult to understand what the role is like without doing the day-to-day work combined with the hours expected, however the project combined with the various talks, networking opportunities and work shadowing provided me with a great insight to understand what it would be like to have a full time role.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Very useful in understanding company culture- very collaborative, and was treated like an employee rather than "an intern".

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • Confirmed my motivation to go into this demanding industry.

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • Reimbursed for Lunch, travel and accommodation if needed.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Afternoon tea, work shadowing and lunches were adequate for networking and meeting other employees across the business.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • Networking: Lunch and afternoon tea meant it was easy to speak and learn about the different teams, good ratio of employees:intern. Social event with all spring Interns was very enjoyable and put you at ease for the rest of the week when working with them.

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Gym classes and volunteering, with all spring interns participating in the latter during the week.

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Be prepared to learn, very demanding, but very rewarding.

    5/5
