About You
I believe that the people that I worked with made me feel at home and that with the family spirit of the business allowed me to work more harder and achieve business goals and objectives. I enjoyed working in different parts of the business such as the accountancy role given to me.
I felt extremly valued as I believe the people I worked with wanted me to get involved and be apart of the team. They let me do tasks that reflected the businessness image and therefore gave me a nice feeling inside to be apart of the team. They also wanted me back.
Any questions I had or any guidance i needed from anyone, they would supply me with the coĊrect information. All supplies i rewuired was there and if they were not they would supply it to me. All systems that I never worked on was taught to me very well which was great.
As I did a business management degree this placement helped a lot. When i worked in the office I worked in all the departments such as marketing and accounting which made my theory based degree fit in really well to the real world. My theory skills adpated well to the business.
The Company
The insight was well structed. As soon as I walked into the business they gave me roles and told me what i shall be doing all week. I worked in various business functions and allowed me to give a clear insight of what a business really entails. I think this was a great way to work.
When working there it had a family type atmosphere which meant that it allowed me to relax more and work more and adapt into the family type work place. It was honestly so fun and got along with my peers. I deffo would come back and work with them again.
I think the business invested a lot of time in me showing me all the systems and the details of each type of work they made me do. They didn't just tell me to sit there and do some random admin task it work. I worked a real role each day.
I believe that when working in a real office based work placement i have the understand of how it will be working in a company and achieveing the business goals. I understand what is required from an employee and what expe tations are required from me. I understand dedication is required.
The insight helped a lot although from what i gathered each busienss has its own culture in terms of this one it adpated a family type culture meaning more people got a long and showed each other errors of our ways together rather than pointing the finger at one person.
After working the placement and now knowing what is required from me and the value that i picked up will deffo allow me to pick up my carrer path. I know i now want to do accounting and what to learn the systems so will have advance knowledge and this would help.
Everything Else
I only lived close by therefore I did not mind being paid or reimbured for the placement. Also when starting the role i did think I needed to be paid as it would have motivated me more. When i started i was wrong because of the family culture it equales up to it.
I got to meet other companies that came to the firm. I got to chat to them who told me about that business. I understood exactly ehat they were talking about and was able to show them what i could bring to their company. I gained two cards from companies.
There were bo social time activies as the event was after i left and they could not push it back or forward but i was fine with that as i did not have time after work. But i believe i had a blast when working there and got to have fun.
Yes they do small activities each each week were an employee chooses an activity to do and every one would turn up. I believe this is a great idea as every one will get something they want to do and they are team building at the same time. This why the culture is great.
Yes,I would love it if they worked for John lewis as the culture for the first time round is awesome and will get taught a bit of every role which is a great way to start. So friendly and willing to teach you is exactly what you need. Brilliant is what i told my friend.
