    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I thought it was actually really insightful. I learnt about the nature of the company, the industry, the people that work there and whether or not this might be a suitable job for me in the future. Everyone was really nice and I really enjoyed networking with everyone. I thought this was a good use of my time.

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt reasonably valued. It did not seem like everyone felt like they had to be there, which was great and also its makes you want to listen more. I thought that the professionals I spoke to genuinely wanted to help me in my career, which was nice to see.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • I spoke to many professionals and many other students about issued or problems I had faced in my career path. They easily cleared up any uncertainties I had and pointer me in the right direction, which was nice. Even on hearing others ask questions or listening to speakers, I learnt things I didn't think I needed or wanted to learn.

    5/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I think I learn more about the industry and how to progress in it as opposed to learning particular skills. Although I will say, that over time my networking skills with improve for sure if i keep going to events like these. I also obtained valuable information with regards to the financial jobs market.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • Very well structured. There was a clear outline for the day which was well stuck to. Breaks were given - although many of the breaks were expected to be used for networking which was quite tiring after a while. I knew what we were doing all the way through the day which was nice.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • There was an atmosphere of knowledge. It was kind of boring - as you would expect when sitting at talks for a long time, but there were many breaks and the trade game was very engaging. My team for the trade game worked quite well so I enjoyed my time - not sure about everyone else.

    3/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I would not they invested very much in me at all. This was very low risk for them in terms of investment as all they invested was a couple of hours of a few of their workers. They did not really get to know us personally as there were a lot of us and they only saw us for a day.

    2/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • I got a feel for the environment and the type of people i would be working with as well as the kind of tasks i would do on a daily basis, as well as how my home life might look. However there is only so much you can tell without doing the job.

    4/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • I believe i understand the company culture relatively well. In a personal statement, I could begin to work out how i would differentiate this company from others and why I would apply to them over others. I think this would help me in applications to the company a lot in the future.

    4/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • I think it was very insightful. I realised that i did like many of the people that worked there and i think i could fit in with that culture. They made daily tasks sound attractive and motivated me to pursue banking as a career. It was not particularly decisive though.

    4/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • It would have been nice though - as a broke student and all.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes, but not higher ups - which is understandable but it would have been nice to see how the personalities differ between different positions within the company. This might have made it easier for me to determine the right career path for myself and whether or not i wanted to work in this firm.

    5/5
