About You
I very much enjoyed the insight week as it gave a thorough overview of different functions within Barclays and what each function entails. It was good to get a holistic view from different members within Barclays Group and get an insight from the perspective of not only graduates, but of senior members within the organisation
To a great extent, I felt valued during my time as the programme consisted of insights from individuals quotes high up within the hierarchy, and the fact that they took time out of their day to give their perspective of their roles and their function, was highly commendable. The overall panel sessions and network sessions added to this aspect incredibly.
I received a good level of support and guidance through the insight programme, especially from individuals like Jai and Remy.
I believe the skills I develop will be very useful and applicable later in my career. I believe I have a base understanding of most functions now which will help in making an informed decision
The Company
It was very structured as it gave a good insight into every function. It allowed me to get a flavour of each function
The general atmosphere was very welcoming and communial. The atmosphere was in which individuals were integrated with each other very well.
Barclays invested in me quite well in the sense that it gave not only senior speaker interviews but had thorough networking sessions in which to build links and networks that will be very useful later on
It was very helpful in understanding the different functions and the structure to the working day which I found really useful
It really helped in understanding the company culture, as it gave an insight into the company culture and value from the perspective of senior management.
It was very valuable in deciding my future career path as it made me understand what functions I have more of an interest in and would be suited for
Everything Else
I was paid and had my expenses reimbursed and covered.
There were a lot of opportunities to network with a range of individuals and meet individuals currently within the industry
The networking and social events were very useful in building links and getting a broader understanding of different functions
I found about a lot of networks in which to add to the actual working activities
I would definitely recommend this insight programme to a friend as it’s an intense but moulding opportunity to further your understanding of firms such as Barclays and how they operate
