The Role
The people were fantastic and loved the culture. I did not enjoy the work as much as I did not have enough, and the work I was given was very menial.
The teams were very welcoming and gave me advice and answered any questions I had.
My assigned People manager was extremely helpful despite being away for a week during my internship. My supervisors on the other hand were often very busy but were happy to answer questions.
I didn't have enough work to do despite asking for more.
I really appreciated shadowing a partner as I got to observe how someone at the top deals with people. The training received wasn't exactly useful in the job. The things I learnt on the job were much better. I also learnt a few Excel tricks to help with efficiency.
The Company
Very good sense of community; most people in the department knew each other. Good balance of work and fun. I was also allowed to attend a few balls with employees which was very nice!
Could have been better. The interns were left without access to the online main frame network initially. I also felt the supervisors could have been more prepared for having interns on board by already having a set amount of work for interns.
Lots of training, and events.
Company Parties/Events
There are many opportunities to move up the ladder in PwC, and also opportunities to work abroad or in different departments.
The Culture
I have made some good friends on my placement and hopefully we'll be working together in the graduate scheme.
Since my placement was in London, everything was expensive but it's to be expected.
Many bars to hang and chat after work.
I don't recall of any.
