About You
I thoroughly enjoyed the insight. It was highly useful, providing me with a truly fantastic insight into the different sectors within the operations division as well as also allowing me to learn more about the culture at Barclays. The experience generally overall was highly enjoyable and beneficial to me as a student.
I felt values during my time at Barclays. I felt particularly valued after I had the opportunity to learn about the values that Barclays have. I learn about how highly valued respect is at Barclays as a key value, and how this spans across clients, employees and new spring interns like myself.
I received a high amount of guidance and support during my time on the spring week. I managed to receive support from the HR team at Barclays, in relation to the recruitment process. I also received support from other Barclays employees; this was particularly within the Operations division during the networking event.
The skills and information I developed and received during this Spring Week will be highly useful for me beyond my studies. In particular I have had the opportunity to develop my teamwork as well as my presentation skills in the project that my team and I had to complete at the end of the week.
The Company
I would say that the insight overall was well structured and well organised. This was because I received insights into a variety of different sectors within operations, whilst also having the opportunity to develop my own teamwork skills by working on a highly interesting project. The insight allowed me to explore a diverse range of opportunities.
The general atmosphere during my insight was good. Generally the culture at Barclays was incredibly friendly, with everyone there being always willing to help and willing to answer any queries that I may have. I appreciated that everyone was treated as an equal regardless of your role within Barclays itself.
Barclays overall did invest in my training by allowing me to participate in a spring week, which in turn allowed me to hugely develop my understanding of the finance industry as a whole. Consequently this spring week has also allowed me to develop my own professional skills as a whole.
This insight certainly did allow me to understand what it would be like to have a full time role at Barclays. This is because it provided me with the opportunity of networking, thus allowing me to get a deeper insight into the work that people in the Operations department do.
The insight definitely did allow me to learn more about the company culture at Barclays. This is because we had the opportunity to go over the values that Barclays holds thoroughly, and how these values are a clear reflection of the collaborative and friendly culture that Barclays upholds so strongly.
The opportunity of the spring week allowed me to have a clearer vision in terms of my own career path and own professional development. This is because I managed to have an effective and clear insight into the different opportunities available within Barclays, by looking at the different transaction cycles within the Operations division.
