About You
The insight week was thoroughly enjoyable and really showed us the different business areas within the short space of time. There was also a variety of interaction with staff members from current graduates right up to senior level.
Everyone made time to speak to us and answered all of our questions. People were very willing for us to take their details if needed to speak to them in future and stay connected.
Lots, all of the sessions are very structured and there is no miscommunication.
The skills we developed this week will be extremely beneficial to our future careers whether this is in the financial industry or not. This is because we learnt a lot about good conduct and received lots of advice that is applicable to the workplace in all industries and at university
The Company
Very well structured. Every session was fit into a busy timetable that we received at the beginning of the week. The HR team have ensured that this insight week is very clear and well structured.
There was an overall positive atmosphere, especially with all members of staff.
The firm have invested a significant amount of time into us by providing us with the spring week and the opportunities that this brings. The opportunity to interview for a potential summer internship next year is really important as it will allow us to experience an assessment centre for the first time.
We got a really good understanding of different business areas and the various roles that operate within them. It was clear that there are various roles available within the businesses that make up barclays international and the flexibility to change . We were also well informed of the structure of the summer and graduate programmes
I feel that I have a clear understanding of the culture at Barclays as well as the different focuses in different divisions and within different teams themselves
The week was viral in helping decide on a potential career as we got to see and compare 3 different and diverse business areas.
Everything Else
£250 Plus travel to and from the spring week. For those outside of london, travel was also provided However if you lived in London you were not reimbursed for daily travel.
There was a big focus on networking through the week however more guidance may have been beneficial on the best way to get the most out of these conversations.
Lots of opportunities
Yes. There is a vast range of out of work activities as well as extensive diversity and inclusion networks across Barclays.
Yes I would definitely recommend this opportunity as it will enhance your CV and open doors at Barclays in the future.
