About You
Probably one of the best experiences I have ever had in terms of learning new things. Everyone has been extremely kind and treated me with the utmost respect throughout the process, and I have met the most lovely people. I am extremely happy that I decided to apply for barclays, and hope to work here in the future
Our opinions were always valued by the people running the insight week, and all of the speakers we had the chance to listen to. Each and every one of us on the programme has been looked after since day one, and any issues that we have had were resolved straight away
We were always being helped along and being given advice as to how to maximise our learning during the week. Also, it was very clear that barclays want us to learn and to achieve big things, and they were helpful in making sure we knew how we could individually do this
The skills I have developed are priceless. There are countless applications of these skills to the real world. I feel that I am much more perceptive now, and also alot more considerate of others. For my maths degree, I think taking away skills like attention to detail and rigour will definitely aid me in my studies
The Company
The majority of the week was very well structures, and the time that was allocated to speakers and to the graduates made sense and we always got breaks to make sure we didnt burn out during the days. One thing I would change is to move the shadowing to earlier in the week so that participants can pick the function they interview for after their shadowing
The atmosphere was perfect. Everyone was cheerful and genuinely happy to be a part of the experience, and the senior speakers and graduates were all happy to see us and to talk to us even after they had finished giving their presentations. It was a lot more settling and calm than ai had anticipated it would be
I think the firm made sure the whole group progressed as a whole and thats what was pushed for rather than focusing on individuals development
The week cleared up all stigmas behind working in a bank, and shed some light on what its actually like and the culture the different departments have
Massively, I full understand what the culture is like at barclays now
Extremely helpful. They sold not just the company, but the actually functions so well. I definately feel like this is the right place for me.
Everything Else
They paid me for the week and paid for both my travel and accommadation
We had several networking events where we got to speak to a range of employees from different backgrounds, and different parts of barclays
They were very relaxed and informal, it wasnt scary at all, everyone was lovely to speak to and it was very beneficial
They talked to us alot about charitable work that people do inside the business, and different sporting clubs that you can be a part of
100% I would definitely recommend this insight to anyone no matter what degree their doing or their background
