About You
I enjoyed the insight very much. I learnt a lot about every different function, what my daily life at Barclays would be like, and developed many different skills.
I felt very valued during my time at the company, I felt the care and effort they were making towards our future careers throughout the entire week.
We received a lot of guidance and support. Any question I had was always answered, which was really useful in deciding which function I wanted to intern for.
I felt my skills did develop, especially my communication, presentation and teamwork skills. All these skills will be really helpful in my degree, where we have group projects where all of these skills are necessary.
The Company
The insight was very structured. Each day was planned carefully and through the app we were able to see the agenda for the day. Each day went smoothly, with us as interns learning many new things.
The general atmosphere was very nice. Everyone was very friendly, always there to help and answer my questions. it was a very inclusive friendly environment.
The firm did invest heavily in me. There was lots of opportunities for personal training and development, throughout the week, with us constantly developing our knowledge.
The insight gave me a large insight into what it would be like having a full time role at the company. Through the work-shadowing we were taken by a graduate to the offices, to see what daily like at Barclays would be like.
The insight gave me a large insight into the company culture. I learnt how inclusive and diverse the culture was. I also learnt a lot about Barclays' values of respect, integrity, service, excellence and stewardship.
It was very valuable in helping me decide my future career path. Before I did not know a lot about the functions of the bank but by the end of the week I knew a lot about what each function entails, and i knew which function I wanted to intern for.
Everything Else
The week is not paid for, and since I lived close I did not need to be reimbursed.
Yes there were many networking events throughout the week, We had a networking lunch, as well as a networking evening. We also had panels where we were able to ask as many questions as we wanted. It was very useful.
The networking opportunities were very good. Every question I had was answered very well. It was very useful, informative and engaging.
Yes I did. I found out there are many extra-curricular opportunities outside of work I could get involved in as well as many charity events that Barclays hold that I could also get involved in. I also found out you could create your own events for people to take part in which was very interesting.
Yes I would definitely recommend this insight to a friend.
