About You
I enjoyed the insight week at Barclays very much. I think it was one of the best, as well as prestigious ways in which I could educate myself about the functions roles in the Banking industry. With the possibility to speak to graduates and Directors I was able to ask the different questions that I thought were necessary for me to improve my understanding of the financial world and learn about how my role here at Barclays would look like.
I would say that during my time at Barclays I did feel valued. All of the graduate speakers who came to give us insight into their roles seemed actually keen to speak to us, and help us in making th right choice about our future by explaining their role here at the bank. Of course, with the consideration of how busy the directors are, they also gave us sufficient amounts of time to ask the questions. Overall the team reposnsible for the spring week was always there to help us with any inquiries or help that we had or needed.
There was quite a lot of guidance and support in terms of the spring weeek organization. At all times we knew where we had to be and what we have to be do8ng thanks to the spring week team and the application designed to help us. I do wish however there was a bit more help in terms of aiding you in making the right choice in regards to what career path/summer internship is the right place for you.
I think the skills I received will help me with understand what I need to focus on during my degree in terms of the necessary subjects I need to take or the approach to certain extracurricular activities. I think that the skill that will help me way beyon my time studying that I developed largely this week was my ability to network.
The Company
The insight was very well structured. There was always something that had to be done, and we did not get bored at any point in time. For me it really reflected the life in banking: fast paced time with a steep learning curve.
The atmosphere was very welcoming. The team made sure that we felt welcome, as well as all speakers were very open to having conversations with us. The people in the spring week were also extremely positive and fun to be around. Overall it was a great atmosphere, being surrounded by driven but also fun people.
I think the company invested in us in terms of the time. We were able to spend time with the people who actually work at the bank, showing that the bank was willing to give up Thierry working time for our personal development. I do feel that they could invest in us more in terms of actual skill development.
It helped me a lot. Through the shadowing sessions I was able to really see what I think I would like and hat I don’t think I would like to do on the daily basis.
Probably th most pushed idea throughout the spring week. The Barclays culture. Great insight, and to be honest leaves me with a last impressions about the bank.
It was useful however I wish there was more of the hands on things. I think it would be better to have less pure speeches and question time, and mortime activities.
Everything Else
It was a very competitive offer. Even though I had to fly in for the spring week, I ended up not speninding any of my money for any of the expenses. I was able to cover everything with the funding that came from Barclays which was of course a very interesting offer.
Yes. There were so many opportunities. I feel like I met a lot of people, and also a lot of important people which was a great opportunity.
They were great. Highest floor at Barclays with drinks and snacks provided. It left a lasting impression on me.
Yes. The employees talked about the various networks, organizations and social projects that they get involved with whilst at the bank.
100% yes.
