About You
I really enjoyed the insight week, it gave me a great introduction into Barclays and showed the values of the company. It was fantastic seeing that Barclays isn't simply a big financial bank, they really value technology and the staff that work for their company. I would recommend it to anyone considering to apply.
I really enjoyed my time at Barclays, I felt valued and spoke to many project managers throughout the week. It was a really immersive experience for everyone who attend and we got treated as a member of the company. Nobody spoke to us as though we were temporary staff simply attending for one week.
We received plenty of guidance and support at every stage of the process, it has been a really informative process which identified how to progress from a Spring Intern to a Summer Intern and even further to be a Graduate Student possibly in the future. There are plenty of possibilities.
My skills have been developed vastly using the information I received throughout the week. In my studies, I plan to implement some of the information and skills for my 12 month placement I am undertaking at a company from June 2019 to June 2020. The skills will be really valuable during my final year at University.
The Company
The insight has been very structured throughout the week, we have had a very rigorous schedule to stick to, but that has helped us to learn as much as possible in the shortest possible time. Coming to the end of the week, it feels like I am part of Barclays.
The atmosphere has been incredible, Katie and Rachel ran the week and really made sure the environment was constantly upbeat and light-hearted. I definitely wouldn't trade this experience for anything, I would recommend any student that is eligible to apply for this opportunity to. It makes obtaining a summer internship a more straight forward opportunity as opposed to an assessment centre.
The company really invested in us as individuals, throughout the week we had plenty of opportunities to develop ourselves as individuals, whether that was by paying for us to undergo specific training by an outsourced company, their was plenty of networking events which helped me overcome the fear of leaving University.
Great, I really enjoyed this Spring Insight Week Opportunity at Barclays.

Great, I really enjoyed this Spring Insight Week Opportunity at Barclays.
There were plenty of opportunities to network throughout the week, with project managers, graduates, cyber security individuals, developers throughout the week. This provided a fantastic opportunity to understand what it would truly be like to work at Barclays. The staff really seemed to enjoy their opportunities at the company and the work they do on a daily basis.

There were plenty of opportunities for employees to get involved in outside of work, there are plenty of societies and other groups on campus for employees to enjoy their personal interests whilst on working during a break or lunch. I really enjoyed this aspect of the campus and felt it was a great insight.
100%. I really enjoyed this Spring Insight Week Opportunity at Barclays.
