About You
I have really enjoyed this insight, it has shown me a lot about Barclays and also what Radbroke was like and it completely surprised me given what I was expecting. Everyone I’ve met has been so lovely and everything we’ve participated in as been very interesting and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed seeing what life is like here.
I felt fairly valued during my team here as everyone was so kind and friendly. Obviously we were treated different as of the spring insight but we were very kindly welcomed to the company by everyone and [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] have been so pleasant during the course of the week.
Throughout the week we have received a lot of guidance and support. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] have happily helped us any queries we have given with us with a smile on their face and everything we done (I.e. presentations and work shadowing) have been very well structured and I’ve always felt as though we’ve been guided through the process.
One of the most useful things about this week is that it has helped me confirm and decide the sort of path of which I want to follow in the technology industry which could help steer the direction of my university studies. It has also helped me solidify the knowledge of my own skills.
The Company
Every activity we have participated in has been very well structured and scheduled so we were always aware of what we were doing and what was next. It has flowed very nicely but one comment is that sometimes we spent a lot of time in one room listening to various presentations which were interesting but dragged a little.
The thing that surprised me the most about this week at Radbroke is the atmosphere within the insight and also around the Radbroke Campus. During the insight everyone has been extremely friendly and social and around the camps in amazed at how lovely, informative and involving everyone has been, along with the very relaxed work atmosphere.
Besides one useful afternoon of doing team based work development and a group project throughout the week which has helped develop my team working skills like leadership, active listening and social confidence etc. However everything else we did was not exactly ‘training’ it was more of an insight into job roles and the company.
From various opportunities throughout the week such as the networking events and work shadowing I have had a lot of chances to ask current employees what they thought about life at Barclays and also what job roles are available. I’ve been very impressed by how much information has been provided to me.
Again from various opportunities throughout the week such as the networking events and work shadowing I have managed to acquire the options of many current employees and understand what the culture is here and from what I’ve heard it seems like one of the best places to work as everyone is very happy and the hours are very flexible.
Due to the large range of roles available I have discovered a lot about what jobs Barclays has to offer but as there were so many available it hasn’t really helped me consolidate what job I desire exactly. Also I’ve have met a lot more nontechnical people than I have technical which hasn’t helped.
Everything Else
There were a lot of opportunities available yes.
They were very nice as I got a great chance to ask my own questions to a large range of people and developed a great insight to the general thoughts and opinions of life at Barclays and Radbroke but also what jobs were available and what these jobs consisted of.
Yes from the previously mentioned networking events I asked a lot of people and was made well aware about all of the events and activities that were offered at Radbroke such as the gym and sports clubs etc and also the in our activities available such as training and all.
Yes, it has been very informative, interesting and appealing.
