Spring Intern Review

The Barclays Spring Programme was an exciting, interactive and educational insight. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about different services and departments within Barclays. The opportunity to undertake two work shadowing opportunities allowed me to gain experience first-hand in the day-to-day life of Barclays employees.

Throughout the programme, each individuals career interests were taken into account. This allowed me to focus and develop further knowledge regarding certain job roles, departments and service lines. The environment on the programme was supportive, and this allowed each member of the programme to learn and develop during sessions, but also from each other.

During the Technology Spring Programme, I have developed a variety of skills, including: - Networking - Personal development - Understanidng complex technical information - Personal Brand - Team working Skills I have developed during my time at Barclays will assist me not only in university but in every experience and role I undertake in the future. The programme has provided a supportive environemnt to learn and develop.

The programme was organised and structured extremely well. The agenda and programme was clearly outlined prior to the programme starting, and it was clear the programme was structured to allow us to gain benefit from the knowledge we have gained during the week. Insight talks and tours allowed me to gain a further insight into Barclays, this ultimately supported me in my work shadowing opportunity later in the week. I was able to prepare in advance of sessions, in regards to both the subject matter and to the role of the speaker at Barclays.
