About You
It was very interesting to hear about many different areas of the bank and how they all link together within the field of technology. There were fun networking sessions and all the employees that I met were very nice and friendly. All of my fellow springers were brilliant people too.
There was a huge amount invested in the spring week and in our wellbeing whichade me feel very valued by Barclays. All expenses were paid and everyone was very willing to speak to us about their work and give us advice. There were a huge number of people available to talk to.
I felt that we got a suitable amount of guidance and support during the week. There was help available with our presentation and guidance on interviews, CVs and personal brand which will be invaluable across my career and not only if I work at Barclays in the future. Also lots of good advice from Barclays employees.
It was very interesting to learn about the project management structure, which will be highly useful in my career in the future. I also got good advice about always seeking to broaden my skill set and try out work in new fields, and how this is very often done within Barclays.
The Company
In general the insight was structured well, with the first two days being quite intense but the next two being more relaxed. I felt that on Monday and Tuesday some of the talks could have been split up by different sessions such as work shadowing so that there was more variety within the day.
Everyone got on very well on the spring week and enjoyed meeting new friends. All staff were very friendly and this contributed to the positive feeling throughout the project, which in turn allowed us to work better and get a better experience of Barclays, technology and finance in general whilst on this insight.
I felt like Barclays valued us an awful lot by providing sessions on interviews, CVs and personal brand, which would be skills that are useful throughout my career and not just within Barclays. This showed that Barclays valued us as people and not just as potential future employees at the firm.
I felt that I got a brilliant insight into a huge number of different roles available within tech at Barclays. This gave me much more of a sense of which career path I wanted to take later in life, and cemented my feeling that I wanted to have a career in tech.
Thanks to taking part in this insight programme, I felt I got a far better of the Barclays R. I. S. E. S. values mean and how they are applied in the workplace. This made Barclays a more appealing company to work for and gave me a sense that working here would make a real difference.
The content of the day was hugely useful in helping me decide my future career path. This is because I started to understand the structure of how projects are conducted in business and where I felt that I could fit in to that. This part of the spring week really surpassed my expectations.
Everything Else
Very kind of Barclays to do this.
Multiple networking sessions
They were enjoyable but could have been longer.
Saw the sports pitches and other available facilities.
Wholeheartedly.
