    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I thoroughly enjoyed this Insight. It was a great experience in which I got to see more of the bank than I had ever imagined. It allowed me to meet people that are like-minded to me and also to engage with high-level professions and learn more about the variety of roles available in Technology.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • Initially, I was quite nervous however after the program began, I was instantly made more relaxed by the program administrators and the rest of my colleagues. My ideas and questions were always treated responded to by the speakers and this allowed my knowledge to grow deeper. We were also treated with respect by other colleagues and graduates.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • During the Insight at Barclays, I received a lot of support from all the graduates. They helped us understand the process of progressing on to the scheme. They also answered all the questions we had about the skills needed and tips for the interview. The program coordinators were also great at supporting us throughout the program.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The insight teaches you mostly soft skills. Based on the questions you ask, the colleagues may or may not go into as many technical details however it sets you up to know what direction/modules you could take to get you better prepared for the roles you want to get into.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • I really enjoyed the structure of the Insight. We had a variety of sessions such as talks from highly skilled speakers, speed networking events, personal skills exploration and a trip to the Eagle Labs in Salford. This made the program very dynamic and enjoyable every single day. I highly recommend it!

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The general atmosphere was very friendly but professional. All the colleagues are there to support you and not to makes you feel uneasy. It was easy to ask any questions we had about their roles and the Bank in general. There was also a genuine atmosphere of wanting to learn more.

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • The insight was a great tool to help provide more information about the intrinsic roles in the firm. We learnt a lot about the digital team, the infrastructure team and cybersecurity team, which are further subdivided into sub-teams.
