The Role
It was quite enjoyable but it did have a very steep learning curve.
My colleagues were very helpful to me. Obviously they had times when they were extremely busy but after the markets closed, they were much more relaxed and very helpful.
I had a very helpful manager who gave me feedback that was very down to earth without any sort of padding. He answered all of my questions and always showed me how I should approach things in a big organisation like DB
In the beginning I was not too busy but as the end approached, I had to finish my project before the end of the internship. So I was extremely busy.
I was given quite a big responsibility. The project I was working on would be used quite a lot.
I certainly learned a lot of skills. Starting from 'always having a notebook with you' to how things work in a really big organisation.
The Company
It was quite exciting as I was on the trading floor. Occasionally I could notice people's tempers flaring but mostly, people were busy bees.
It was organised quite well. Everyone already had a manager assigned to them. The managers had already thought of the task to be given to us. Things did run quite smoothely.
They invested an entire week (out of 9) to professionally train us. And even during the internship, we had talks from senior people within the bank every 2-3 times a week.
Financial Bonus
Company Parties/Events
I got an offer with them already!
The Culture
Yes people were quite social. We occasionally went out for drinks. It was a good social atmosphere.
It was in Liverpool street in London, UK. Not the cheapest place I would say. I would say that is partly because its a place where a lot of bankers work.
Awesome nightlife. You could go to any good night club within 20 mins of a train ride.
Yes there's lots of charity work that we can get involved in.
