About You
I thoroughly enjoyed my insight at Savills. I was placed in the hotel valuation team, which is something I have never considered looking into and had the best time. I learnt so much about the different services Savills offers, this really added to my commercial awareness.
I felt valued at Savills during networking events, where we had the opportunity to learn what Savills offers to insight students in the future and possible careers on a more informal basis.
I felt like I had lots of guidance and support during the insight. This was thanks to having a mentor for the whole week who would explain and show everything to me.
I felt like I learned more in a week at the insight programme than I did in a month at university. The skills I developed had much to do with modules in my degree (land law, investment appraisal etc.), which I found very beneficial.
The Company
The insight programme was incredibly well structured. There was a great balance between independent work in your team and department talks/networking events for all insight students.
I found the atmosphere during the insight week very encouraging.
The firm taught me the key skills a chartered surveyor needs to develop, in this way they invested in me.
The insight week was very similar to how a normal week would have been for a chartered surveyor (lots of desk work and a couple site visits etc.).
I believe the insight week was a great way in experiencing the company culture. The company culture I felt was very encouraging and exciting.
Very! I felt I got an idea of what different roles in different departments include.
Everything Else
Lots of opportunities to network with other insight students and directors in the company.
The networking events were great fun and I benefited from having lots of conversations from a range of people in the company.
Through department talks.
I would recommend this insight programme to anyone who wants to pursue a career in real estate.
