About You
Very interesting and inspiring event that motivates us to join EY. You are not only exposed to the industry, but also the people and the culture behind it. The insight was about how technology is disrupting different types of markets. The insight took place at both the Canary Wharf and a luxury hotel.
When I see how I was treated during this short period at EY, I understand and realize how much this company invest in their people, and value their capabilities. We had the chance to meet, and talk and hear from different people (from partners to recent graduates) and they all showed great interest and enthusiasm in us.
From my personal experience, I can tell you that you will never feel uncomfortable, lost, or confused during your time in the porgramme. From the very first second you enter the building, several staff happily welcome you and are ready to help! Additionally, there is always a "mentor buddy" on your table to answer any questions you may have.
Coming from an engineering background, I can definitely say this programme enhanced my communication and networking skills, which are necessary in whatever degree. Thanks to the high quality speakers, I realized how the technologies (or the theory behind it) you learn at university are practically implemented in real life projects.
The Company
I can say that the insight was very well structured. We heard from a variety of speakers, in different positions and divisions, giving us a clear overview of what EY is. The different talks were also accompanied with engaging workshops to meet the fellow attendees. Not to forget the multiple comfort breaks which were fantastic opportunities to network with EY employees and refuel with delicious food.
The general atmosphere makes you feel comfortable in your element. Everyone is welcoming, friendly and here to listen to you. EY employees and guest speakers encourage us to ask any questions we may have, share our ideas/past experiences, and challenge their views. We also had the chance to participate in a social event, where we got to know more about each others in a fun and cool atmosphere.
From this insight, I realized how much EY invest in their people ad make everything for them to work at their full potential. They value the person you are
clearly
I can say that during the Insight the one thing the speakers most emphasized on was the company culture; and the people. We had the chance to know more about EY foundation, diversity and inclusiveness at the firm, the relationship you build with the people around you. And I think this how EY differentiates itself from other companies.
It was really helpful to understand the different divisions.
Everything Else
If you live outside London (which is not my case), they pay for your accommodation in a luxury hotel nearby. They also offer to reimburse your travel expenses, which I did not ask for as I felt it was already a huge opportunity to be selected for this programme at a firm such as EY.
Plenty, plenty and plenty networking opportunities.
Plenty, plenty and plenty networking opportunities. They encourage you to go and talk to EY employees during the breaks; I even had lunch with a senior consultant! And I believe this is also one of the purposes of this insight. There was also a bowling and VR social event, which was very enjoyable.
Listen to different talks from guest speakers at the firm and talking to employees, you realize that working at EY is not only about dealing with client issues. You also have the chance to take part in volunteering programs, go for a drink with your manager after a long tiring day!
I would definitely recommend this insight to a friend because it really gives you an overview of what EY is, what is their culture like, and the way they treat their people. You also get to know and use some of the most cutting edge technologies out there. On top of this, you get the chance to expand to expand your network, and meet new people.
