About You
I think that given its duration, the insight could hardly be any better.
It was great to see how supportive and welcoming the staff was.
We were given information about next steps at each stage during the day, so that there was no room for confusion regarding the program.
Through a case study and various forms of networking, I developed my communication and presentation skills, and received useful feedback on improving these.
The Company
Very clear structure; the schedule was respected. We had talks on the first day about the divisions in the company, and a social event in the evening. On the second day, we had a great “speed networking” event with employees from across 7 areas of expertise, and a case study done in groups. I would have liked, however, to have more case studies and workshops instead of talks and presentations.
The atmosphere was most friendly and open. Talking to employees was as easy and relaxed as talking to fellow colleagues.
The focus was less on professional training, and more on providing information about the company.
I had the chance to speak to over 15 employees from across several divisions, and to 2 particularly more, so that now I have a rather clear basic understanding of EY’s business, and as a result I know which division I would like to work in.
On the second day we had a talk dedicated exclusively to this.
More helpful on the second day, when we had the chance to speak in more detail to employees.
Everything Else
This does not apply to me as I come from London and I did not ask for reimbursement of travel expenses, but for people who came from outside London, expenses were reimbursed and a night at a 5-star hotel was provided.
Several - especially on the second day.
The social event on the first day was nice, and the location smartly chosen close to the venue where all the previous part of the day took place. There were networking sessions both with colleagues and with employees.
Yes, employees shared various travel experiences and post-work activities, from activating in the EY Foundation and other forms of social involvement to their personal hobbies.
Definitely. For me, since I did not know much about professional services before coming to EY, this was clearly an eye-opener.
