About You
The insight was great - I thoroughly enjoyed it. I met lots of great peers and also employees at the firm and everyone was really keen to help, get to know you are build friendships. This made the entire experience really enjoyable and I would definitely recommend the insight week
I felt valued from day one with several managing directors taking time out of their day to come and speak with us all. Employees encouraged us to stay in touch and were genuinely interested in our careers to date and experiences (both at uni and beforehand). Overall, i felt very valued
There was a lot of guidance and support. I met with my assigned buddy the week before the spring week and obtained lots of support from my buddy throughout the week. Also, HR were great in providing support - especially on assessment centre day during the debate and the interview.
They will assist me greatly with the summer internship and also a grad position. The lecture style presentations were fantastic since they taught us valuations and other banking terms. The skills I developed ought to give me a competitive edge against other applicants for the longer summer internship next year.
The Company
Very well structured. There was a day dedicated to banking and a day dedicated to markets within the investment banking spring week. The interview day was furthermore structured well with a debate and interview. Groups were assigned with ease and timings ran smoothly. The structure of the insight was well communicated.
The atmosphere was great. People were happy and keen to learn - I think everyone was really enriched by the experience. HR ensured there was a positive and great environment throughout the week. The atmosphere was really sociable too, with lots of opportunities to network with one another and the employees
The firm invested in our personal development by offering lecture style lessons regarding both banking and markets (delivered by an employee). We were also were developed through an external session which taught us our learning styles and the way we communicate with one another - this was a great personal development experience.
There was no work shadowing but I still think I got to marginally understand the daily role of an analyst within the firm. Also, the buddy system was great to ask employees what their day was like. There was also a day in the life of an analyst panel session.
I feel as though I really got to understand the culture at the firm. We were able to meet an abundance of employees which really gave us a well-rounded perception on the culture. The company culture appears to be friendly, hard-working and great. I really enjoyed the culture at the firm
The content of the day was very useful in helping me decide on my future career path since there was a day dedicated to banking and a day dedicated to markets. This really helped me to differentiate between the two divisions and pick which division I was more suited to.
Everything Else
I was paid for the week, put into an apartment for the week and reimbursed for travel to and from the apartment in Stratford. I was paid quickly after submitting expense form. I thought this was very encouraging and made us all feel very valued as spring interns during the week.
There were lots of opportunities to meet employees at the firm. Every day there were networking lunches with employees, buddies, HR and other members of the firm. There was also a specific networking event on the first day with drinks and snacks provided. This really broke the ice and was a great way to meet lots of people.

Yes. For example the Women's network which holds charity galas and other events to raise money for charities. E.g. the money raised will go towards women who cannot afford workwear for their interviews and other employment opportunities. Also, there were diversity networks, pride networks and sporting societies. There seemed to be many activities available
I would thoroughly recommend this insight to a friend because I was able to learn a lot in the week. Also, I met some great people (employees and peers). It was such a great opportunity to meet some great people, learn a lot and also establish a network at the firm.
