The Role
I found the work I carried out varied and interesting.
My colleagues gave me work which was contributing to the audit/ helping them out. They would offer advice to help me develop, but also praising if I did well.
At PwC we would ask for feedback after every client we worked on, therefore there was always support and guidance offered at the end of every week or so. My colleagues also offered advice on a task by task basis.
For the majority of my placement I had sufficient work to get on with but didn't feel to overloaded. I had a group project to complete and various training sessions if the stage of the audit meant that I couldn't contribute much.
My manager was happy for me to go and speak with the clients staff regarding any issues that came up. This clearly shows the trust they had in me to represent the company well and also resolve the problem.
I gained valuable skills which I already believe have assisted my studies at university. For instance for a group project I have to do this year I have taken lessons learned during my placement like working and coordinating work with a number of people. Similarly the presentation skills we learned and practiced over the placement I have already used a few times this year.
The Company
The office was very friendly and relaxed. This made it a better environment to work and feel you can ask questions in my opinion.
From the residential training days to the transition between working in different audit teams my internship seemed well planned and everything ran seamlessly. Its a compliment to everyone involved that it ran so well.
To start we had a few residential training days. Throughout the 6 weeks there was always someone willing to help and train me on any of the tasks I was working on despite the time pressure they must have been under.

I am really looking forward to working at PwC next year. The internship helped me to decide that this is a career I can't wait to get started with.
The Culture
We met up throughout our placement at the various days PwC organized, often we would then go for a drink after our working day finished. A program on our laptops called 'sametime' enabled us to easily stay in contact throughout the 6 weeks.
Luckily I was able to stay at home with my parents which substantially lowered the cost of living. Despite this I feel the wage we were paid would of allowed me to pay for accommodation and also socialize to an extent if this hadn't been the case.
Being where I live it didn't seem great, however on a couple of occasions we had a staff social in london which was good fun.
There was plenty going on from football tours to a pantomime, unfortunately we finished before some of the main activities started, however we were still invited to go along.
