About You
Very enjoyable insight, and also learnt a lot. Very accommodating with travel and hotel.
The employees that I met genuinely seemed to want to take the time to talk to me. Organisation was not always very good, which can give the impression that you are not a priority.
There was always someone on hand to answer any questions throughout the week.
The first day was especially good for learning skills, and the job shadowing taught me a lot about commercial banking, which would be helpful in an internship / job.
The Company
Programme was well structured with a one day introduction, one and a half day jo showing, afternoon with current graduates, and then an assessment centre at the end. As previously mentioned, organisation was not always very good.
Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere amongst participant and facilitating staff.
The first day introduction had sessions on lots of different topics which was good. Being able to talk to employees in relatively senior positions was also amazing.
Defiantly helpful to talk to grads and employees, but shadowing them (instead of just talking to them) would have been even more beneficial.
Lots of sessions about RBS striving for an agile, inclusive and forward thinking workplace.
Definitely helped me better understand what commercial banking is all about, helping shape my future choices.
Everything Else
Travel and accommodation was pre booked and paid for by RBS. We could claim breakfast and lunch expenses some days (when not provided), and dinner every day.
Shadowing and talking to grads allowed for networking and meeting employees, but relatively limited (no larger networking session)
Not really many - had a session with some of the current grads, but no organised drinks / social events.
They had different support groups and some sports teams, as well as offering courses, talks etc.
Would recommend to anyone that has an interest in commercial banking or RBS.
