About You
The Spring Insight Programm is the perfect chance to get to know the company, culture and different divisions.
All employees were very friendly and approachable. The organisation team did a great job at providing an extensive program.
HR was always present to help in the case this was necessary.
The apprehension of skills was limited, as is normal for an Insight Program. The information however was invaluable.
The Company
The structure was very good and HR kept everyone on track at all times.
The program is quite intense due to the amount of information and tasks at hand. It was however always enjoyable and interesting.
The Insights Program is a week long, so it gives an extensive insight into the bank and its work. However, the trainings and development are limited due to the limited time frame.
The Insight Program explains very well the different potential roles within the company. Furthermore the networking opportunities allow for a better understanding of every day work life. In the end however an Insight Program can only show you so much, it would be necessary to actually work in order to experience it first hand.
The program was ideal for getting to know the company culture not only on an official basis, through presentations but also enabled a lot of exchange with current employees during networking events, allowing me to gain a better understanding of how the culture is lived. It was a great opportunity to see what working at BAML would be like from a cultural perspective.
The content was very helpful in that it gave a comprehensive overview of all the different divisions in BAML. Furthermore it allowed a more detailed look at departments of interest. Finally one of the most important parts was getting to know the culture and people of Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
Everything Else
Bank of America Merrill Lynch covers all travel expenses and housing (if you are from outside of London) during the program. In addition they provided for food (pastries & coffee, sandwiches, lunch, drinks) during the day and at night at two separat occasions. All in all this more than covered all costs related to the program.
There were several opportunities for meeting and networking with employees from all different departments and seniorities. During the program BAML organized a walking dinner, a career fair, a networking dinner and several round tables and other opportunities to speak to representative from different departments. All of the employees were very friendly and happy to answer questions.
There were several opportunities for meeting and networking with employees from all different departments and seniorities. Some of them, such as the career fair were more official and also a bit crowded while others, such as the networking dinner allowed for longer one on one interactions. All in all there were plenty of opportunities to interact with staff.
I found out about outside activities that employees can get involved in through official presentations as well as personal conversations with current employees. It was very nice to see that there were many opportunities for people to follow their interests within Bank of America and that this was actively encouraged.
I would indeed warmly recommend the Insight Program to anyone who is curious about banking or even looking at what they want to do in future in general. The program allowed me to gain a better understanding about what banking was in general and about Bank of America in particular.
