About You
I very much enjoyed the programme, as we were introduced to many business areas including the Investment Bank, Asset Management and Technology. However, students who are less interested in technology were neglected with the choice of topics on the presentations, as this was geared to students that study engineering etc. .
I always felt valued during the insight programme and the speakers were always happy to answer any questions that we had.
The programme was very well structured and planned meticulously, with every event starting/stopping almost at the second, that it was planned to, therefore there was not much guidance needed, however any questions that we could have had about our projects we could have discussed with anyone that was available.
I don't think they necessarily benefitted me for my studies at university, however I do think that it provided me with better knowledge of the operations of a bank, that I will be able to use during interviews for summer internships and so on.
The Company
As already mentioned the programme was very well structured and was planned to perfection, however, I do think more time could have been allocated to divisions like CCS, ICS or Asset Management, as I felt that compared to technology and operations, their time was fairly shorter compared to interest that attendees had in those areas.
The atmosphere was very good, everyone else was very nice, and across academic fields everyone was able to talk to each other.
Many very important employees of the firm gave talks to us, who were also invlved in workshops and networking events, therefore they invested a lot of time in us.
Obviously, I did not give me a complete immersion in what banking is like, as it was only a three day programme, however, some insights were gained during it.
I think due to the frequent mention of ethics, it was very clear that this is a very important part of UBS's culture.
I think some of the sessions were definitely helpful in what I do not want to do, which is a very good place to go from.
Everything Else
I did not expect payment nor reimbursement of travel expenses therefore I was in no way disappointed by this.
Yes there was networking events were very frequent and useful.
The networking events were very useful, perhpas some informations how to network best would have been useful.
I found out about a gym in the builiding but nothing more, however the programme was focused on the job itself therefore this would have been not useful for us.
Yes I would recommend it to a friend, as it was very useful.
