About You
BAML really took care that we meet a lot of people and we have enough time to understand what they do on a daily basis. The learning opportunity together with all the nice people around made it a great programme to be part of. The assessment centre at the end provided yet another opportunity to understand the business.
People were nice all the time and I could not have asked for more from that point of view. From the spring interns to the more senior employees, everyone was willing to listen and share their story. With this opportunity, I have made a lot of friends and therefore expanded my growing network.
It was just the right amount. I spent time talking to a lot of experienced people who found themselves in the situation of explaining the things that they work with at a fundamental level. I was happy to see how simple were some of the finance concepts when explained by BAML people.
My opinion is that we, as human beings, learn everyday without even being concious about it most of the times. The work shadowing (especially but not only) explained to me how a lot of the things in the bank really happen. Given the era that we live in, this is a very valuable piece of information to have.
The Company
In my opinion, the Spring Insight Programme almost had the right balance of work against networking. I would have loved to spend more time work shadowing given the nice impression that I got from those bits of the programme. I also loved all the team projects that we have done but would have been nice to have them more finance oriented. Either way, they were meant to emphasize teamwork and they did it perfectly.
As I probably already said, everyone was friendly. In terms of the programme locations, I loved to spend time in such a well-organized company. There was not any confusion at all as to what is the next part in our days. The accommodation was also satisfying and enabled the spring interns to live in the same building and make better friends.
