    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I enjoyed the insight thoroughly. There were various sections to the day jam-packed with useful activities and appropriate information given. It was tailored to all undergrads regardless of year group or degree. There were frequent breaks with nice refreshments which was nice as it was a long day (9-5 session).

    4/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I definitely felt valued my time at the firm. They were always friendly to listen to all of our questions and concerns, even provided a nice cloakroom and warm greeting upon arrival. They made sure that we all had a chance to speak to several people that work there in order to gain the most out of the day.

    5/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • We received a lot of necessary support. The schedule for the day was imperative to keep us on track and knowing what was happening. They kept a note of dietary requirements and answered all my questions. We were also shown where everything was and where to go at what point which was good.

    4/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I developed good analysis skills in regard to applying knowledge acquired in a short space of time to a real life context of trading which was very stimulating and interesting. Also, I learnt a lot about fund management and careers in this sector in general which I will definitely be considering now.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight was very well structured with a good schedule which include frequent breaks and a long enough lunch to allow meaningful conversations and networking with company associates and undergraduates. It also had a good mix of activities from talks to group work to panel discussions and Q&As which was good.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The general atmosphere during the insight was fantastic. The staff were friendly and not extra stern/strict or high pressured which can commonly be found in the finance/banking industry. It was very enjoyable with an inclusive, structured yet friendly company culture which is one that I would like to be a part of one day/

    5/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • We were able to learn some trading skills and knowledge but were also given good insight into career opportunities. It was less about personal training however and more about learning about the firm, financial management and careers. Speed networking however was a key skill we were able to cultivate throughout the day.

    3/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • This was shown very well as we spoke to long term workers and graduate workers and so was able to gain a good insight into what it is like to work in the firm properly. The panel discussion also helped to build upon this greatly as they all had different journeys to getting to the grad job.

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • The insight helped understanding the company culture very well because the people were inclusive regardless of cultural background, degree, finance knowledge etc. I also found out about fixtures they run within the company that allow them to get along with various departments with less division which was really nice to see.

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • It was very valuable because it taught me about financial management in practice is less like what you learn in a degree and could actually be quite enjoyable to the point I will definitely be considering applying to several for internships and grad jobs for my penultimate and post university opportunities.

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I was not, however I did not need to be and I am sure that if this was necessary I would have been. They were very thoughtful towards dietary requirements and I am sure it would've been the same for travel and financial ones as well. The company is also in financial management so I doubt this would be an issue

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes there was lots of time solely dedicated to networking which is fantastic . The employees were very open and willing to help and encouraged us to keep in touch and to ask for advice if we consider applying for a role in the future which was very helpful to me.

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • They were very good and informative as we spoke to a plethora of people in different departments

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes the employees told us they are able to be flexible with their work in order to fulfill extra curricular responsibilities or activities such as gym or volunteering. They also did some volunteering in schools together which I found particularly fascinating because it shows that they're quite a multi-faceted company.

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • I would definitely recommend this insight to a friend. The company culture was friendly and professional which lots of opportunities to discover several members of the firm. Also the insight had various aspects to it which meant that it remained engaging throughout the whole day and wasn't boring. Only improvement would be directions to the location as it was quite hard to find/
