About You
The insight week provided a great overview of the banking industry. I thought the variety of workshops, sessions and talks available was suitably broad given it’s our first foray into finance. All of the staff were lovely and the information provided was great. The networking drinks were extremely useful in terms of expansion of our network.
The staff and speakers were informative and were more than happy to help answer any questions that we had. This willingness made me, and I’m sure others, feel appreciated and valued as they took time out of their busy days to work alongside us and inform us about their day to day lives.
All of the staff were super friendly and offered so much support and guidance. The graduates and interns were exceptionally helpful in terms of giving hints and tips about the interview or application process for future events. The interview skills session was also very useful in terms of preparation for the future.
The interview skills workshop helped me greatly as I gained an understanding of the types of questions to expect alongside useful guidance in terms of answering them in an appropriate way. The breadth of the program was great given my degree is not finance related so it taught me a lot.
The Company
The timetable was structured very precisely and well and offered a lot. It was really interesting meeting people from all different areas of the bank and I think this broad overview will help us in the future as we will have a greater understanding of how a bank functions in the current climate.
The atmosphere was great; it was informative and was not too intense. The manner and demeanour of the staff was welcoming and made me feel at ease as I did not feel judged. I felt happy to ask as many questions as I wanted to and they encouraged me to do so.
I’m really interested in this firm as they align well with my personal values and I think it would be great to employ and evolve these throughout the early days of my career. This development will hopefully continue as my career progresses and I think these values will help build great foundations.
Speaking with lots of senior members was incredibly beneficial as they gave us an insight of their current expectations and their forecast for the future. The graduates were also helpful as they were exceptionally candid and informative and provided a more candid insight into their daily lives and the transition into full time work.
The company culture was highlighted by many people and it was interesting to see how much it mattered to them. I learned a lot about how financial industries have changed since the crisis and what is expected of ubs employees which aligned well with my personal values which is interesting.
It was extremely valuable as there were so many different and diverse sessions which included workshops and networking. Their interactive nature helped me consider whether the role was right for me and how it worked in terms of my personality features and if it complements the work being undertaken in the role.
Everything Else
The networking opportunities were great.
See above answer.
Somewhat in terms of charity work however sports was not particularly covered.
Yes I would absolutely recommend this.
