The Role
My day role is constantly changing, which made my year here more enjoyable as I no two days were the same.
From my team and those I work around, I know that the work I put in is useful and valued in the scheme of everything
The foundation team and my manager have been amazing throught the year in helping me develop my skills and push myself
Some days I was very busy, but on others not so much. So I looked to do work outside of my role such as learnt to code etc.
I had quite a lot of responsibility from the start of my placement year which was quite daunting to begin with, but it had helped me develop
One major skill I have learnt is presentation skills and I have developed my communcation skills quite a lot. This can help with my final year presentation as well as my future careers.
The Company
Our office space is rather small and not the most interesting, but it obviously varies between roles/areas
Our foundation team have done a great job throughout the year ensuring everything is run smoothly and we can turn to them if we ever need help
What you get out of the year depends on how much you put yourself out there. If you want to learn about different areas and broaden your skill set, you can easily do this.. But you have to push yourself out of your comfort zones to do these.

Working from home
I really enjoy the culture at IBM, and everyone is so friendly. The graduate programmes are also highly sought over, so I will definitely be applying back.
The Culture
As our location had only 20/30 other interns, there was a small scene but they were all really friendly and I live with a few of them which obviously makes it all a lot more enjoyable.
Our rent was quite high considering the house and location... But everywhere else is fairly priced.
Around our work place there is not much, but about 10/15 minutes away is our home which is very near a lot of pubs and clubs.
IBM offer a lot of Giveback opportunitie to help develop your skills outside of your daily role. These were always really fun and rewarding.
