The Role
It was great and very valuable experience, I was given much responsibility and able to work with senior management.
I felt I was very valued by my colleagues as they would appreciate work I do for them and would be more than willing to help me whenever needed.
My team was very used to remote working as they would be out with clients, however when I needed support or guidance they would always be accessible and easy to reach.
I would always have tasks to be getting on with, however this would fluctuate depending on where were in the quarter but could alway work on additional projects.
I was given a lot of responsibility during my placement as I would work closely with the Sales Director to help prepare the forecast for the UKI and Europe and any senior level reviews that were happening.
I was able to develop many skills that can be transferred back to my degree such as: time management, team working and working independently but the network I built will be vital for my final year at University and once I have graduated
The Company
The atmosphere was great, we had lots of other interns in office so could relate and get others in the same position as myself.
my placement was very well organised with clear lines of management and work. I also had a EPM (Early Professional Manager) who I could speak to at any point if I had any concerns about my placement.
IBM invested a lot in both myself and other colleagues as they provide numerous online training course and events to educate you on the latest technology/processes to ensure that you can excel.

Working from home
Very appealing many people that do a placement are likely to return to IBM as a graduate.
The Culture
It is. very social, we have quarterly networking events, as well other events through out the year. The interns also run their own Christmas party which is very good.
I was based in London so was expensive but I lived at home and commuted.
Being in London the nightlife was very good but also quite expensive.
Yes IBM have different societies and groups you can join. But if you want to join a club outside of IBM it is very easy as there are many clubs/activities you can do/join in London.
