The Role
I enjoyed the experience at IBM, where I had great support and opportunities around me. However, would improve the atmosphere of the office, quite a boring interior
I felt valued by colleagues most of the time. Sometime I feel I should have been given a few more opportunities but overall very good.
Always given support by manager. However I know this wasn't the case for everyone. I felt I was very fortunate
Most of the time I was busy, especially towards the end of my placement when I took on new projects but you do have quieter weeks throughout the year.
Throughout the year I gained responsibility, now owning my own projects.
You get a realist view of a company and develop transferable skills
The Company
Unfortunately my department was quite quiet as a lot of people worked from home but they are looking to improve this.
Very organised scheme. However it does depend who your Early Professional Manager is. Some have more engagement with you than others.
IBM invests a lot in this.
Flexi Time
Subsidised Canteen
Working from home
They are very appealing as they are more client based and consulting which is what I'm interested in
The Culture
Yes great social scene as there a lot of interns, especially in London.
I lived at home in Hertfordshire and commuted in which was expensive but cheaper than living in London. Socialising is expensive but that's London
Bars were good and easy to get anywhere in london
Loads of opportunities to get involved in give back activities
