    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I really enjoyed meeting new people, and learning more about life in a law firm. It was valuable to have both talks, and practical insight over the course of the two days

    5/5

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I didn't feel as though i was a burden and everyone seemed eager to help me if I had a question, or give me work to do

    3/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • The variety of opportunities to talk to people at different levels gave me lots of support and I felt as though I could ask my trainee any questions that I had

    4/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • I have learnt practical networking skills and hope to use the knowledge about Employment law that I've acquired to help inform my decisions about my future career path - as a non-lawyer, the things I learnt are unlikely to help with my degree, but it's nice to know what I'm aiming for

    4/5

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • It was good to begin as a group and gain confidence before moving on to a task and then going alone with a trainee - it allowed aswell for insight from many people at the firm

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • It was great! Everyone was so eager to offer advice and the other students were very nice, I think we all got along well

    3/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • I think that the firm invested in ensuring that we learnt about different areas of the company, but my particular department didn't allow for much personal growth as I didn't have too much to do, although I think that this was just unfortunate for the workload. I believe that the company think that its important to invest in students

    3/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?
  • I think that I was able to see what people at all levels of the firm do, from shadowing the trainees and asking them questions on the panel, to speaking to partners about their path. I think that I gained good knowledge about the career progression that can take place within the firm

    5/5

  • 9. How much did the insight help you in understanding the company culture?
  • Everyone spoke openly about the company's culture, and by looking around the building, I was able to see how this could be reflected in the company ethos. By shadowing a trainee, I was able to gain knowledge of the true company culture as opposed to one presented for the talks

    5/5

  • 10. How valuable was the content in helping you to decide on your future career path?
  • It has allowed me to think seriously about applying to work at a city law firm, and also allowed me to learn more about a practice area that I hadn't considered, but actually really enjoyed and would like to look into further

    5/5

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • We had meals and a hotel provided

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • Yes, we had a skills session and a specific networking lunch. Interaction with other members of the firm was actively encouraged and everyone was keen to speak with me when we were introduced

    5/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • The networking lunch was good, although the room wasn't suitable for this event. Our student social was great fun and allowed our group to really bond and make friends, whilst also talking to the graduate recruitment team in a more relaxed setting

    5/5

  • 14. Did you find out about activities that employees can get involved in outside of work?
  • Yes, we were told frequently about how the company encourages employees to pursue their outside of work passions and maintain a good work/life balance

    4/5

  • 15. Would you recommend this insight to a friend?
  • Definitely! I had a great two days and enjoyed the whole experience

    5/5
