    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • I greatly enjoyed this Spring into Finance for Non-Finance week at JP Morgan. It helped me decide what areas of the firm I would be most interested in working in. It has fuelled my desire to continue learning about finance and developing the skills I need for a successful career at J.P Morgan.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt valued as we were constantly congratulated for having been accepted onto the programme and were always listened if we needed anything. We were told about joining the firm for a summer internship and/or a graduate scheme and how to try and achieve this, which showed their continued interest in us. The amount of current J.P Morgan employees who offered some of their time to us during networking events also made us feel valued.

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • All our questions were answered, be it regarding our finance classes or the recruitment process for our future applications. Furthermore, we received guidance that could apply to any career in finance, be it at J.P Morgan or elsewhere, as we were shown how we could have an impact and help people with each division. This made me feel supported as the firm helped us develop skills and knowledge we will need anywhere we chose to go in the future.

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The skills I developed such as networking, being self-aware and presenting well will help me not only in my studies but also in building strong relationships throughout my life. The classes we had on finance will not help me directly in my current studies but will most definitely help me while working on my applications and if I am given the opportunity to work in finance.

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • It was very well structured, we had no time to become bored in any way and there was (somehow) enough time in one week to cover so much information and so many activities, which proves how well it was structured. Between workshops, classes and networking events, we benefited from different types of activities which adds to the quality of the insight. I'd like to add that the two women organising the week had made sure we would be well fed throughout, which was a pleasant surprise for everyone after seeing our intense schedule.

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • Before attending I was afraid everyone's competitive side would come out and the week would be spent proving our worth to the firm. However, this was not the case in any way, and everyone was simply very driven and motivated. We all became friends and I will soon be seeing some other interns again, which I am looking forward to.

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • I would recommend this internship to anyone interested in a career in finance. It made me look forward to a full time position after attending university, when I was quite stressed about it before attending. It was a great way to meet like minded people and make friends so anyone would benefit from this Spring Week.
