    About You

  • 1. To what extent did you enjoy the insight?
  • It was a really enjoyable experience as we were given an insight into all the various lines of business that J.P. Morgan is involved in including Investment Banking, Markets (sales, trading and research), Risk, Wealth and Asset Management. The program also had many people from all across the world so it was was very diverse.

  • 2. To what extent did you feel valued during your time at the company or firm?
  • I felt very valued during my time at the company especially during networking events. During them, employees were more than willing to talk and give insight into their experiences. Additionally, even those who gave presentations were around to talk to and didn't just leave. We were treated like employees during the week.

    4/5

  • 3. How much guidance/support did you receive during the insight?
  • In terms of future applications and presentation skills: a lot. We had sessions on each of the mentioned and these were very supportive. I realised small things about presentation I would have not before. Similarly, the guidance on applications were holistic and informative in a way that our applications will be better.

    4/5

  • 4. To what extent did/will the skills you developed, and information you received, assist you in your degree studies and beyond?
  • The interview skills and presentation skills sessions were very useful for now and beyond university. Most particularly, the presentation skills. The person who led the session was very active and engaged with the audience very well. Moreover, he was very insightful, learnt a few things I will not forget and have improved my skills even more!

    The Company

  • 5. How well structured was the insight?
  • The insight programme was very structured throughout the week. Each day was split into each line of business where we had presentations from employees in each followed by Q&A's. In addition to networking events, they were spread out over the course of week so it was not too much or too little.

    5/5

  • 6. How was the general atmosphere during your insight?
  • The atmosphere was very good. By removing the aspect of interviews and assessment centres at the end there was not a competitive feel. Moreover, everyone was really friendly and this was enhanced by the diversity of the cohort. There were students from all across the world speaking a variety of different languages.

    3/5

  • 7. In terms of personal training and development, to what extent did the company or firm invest in you?
  • In terms of personal training and development the company invested a lot. We had two sessions, an interview and presentation skills session where we were shown the dos and don'ts of presenting. These skills can be used for now and after Univeristy during a career. They were very useful and an experience I wouldn't get else where.

    5/5

  • 8. To what extent did the insight help you to understand what it would be like to have a full time role with the company or firm?

    Everything Else

  • 11. Were you paid or reimbursed adequately for this experience?
  • The company paid for accommodation during the programme as well as one night before. They also provided us with a travel card for the week so travel to and from the accommodation was free. In addition, travels to and from our home towns and London was prepaid for. They also provided breakfast and lunch.

  • 12. Were there opportunities for networking and meeting other employees of the company or firm?
  • There were several opportunities to networking. There was a afternoon tea, lunch and dinner. The lunch was with analysts and associates and the dinner was arranged in a way where each line of business had a stall with 2 or 3 business representatives. After presentations some employees stayed behind to meet swell.

    4/5

  • 13. How were the networking/ social event opportunities?
  • They were very useful, we got a personal insight into their time at J.P. Morgan. However, I felt the dinner networking session was not the best organised because there were over 150 students trying to talk to a few people so we were unable to make good conversations. But the rest were insightful.
