About You
I really enjoyed the session. It was really complete to have a good overview of all the activities of the bank. We also had a lot networking opportunities with analysts and associates but also with senior people.
I really felt valued by J.P. Morgan during the week. Indeed, they put us in the best conditions. They were very available and answered to every question we had. I think they invested a lot in the spring week to give us a good view of J.P. Morgan but also to show us how it could be to work there.
We had sessions to prepare for the next steps of the recruiting process (ie summer internship). They gave us a lot of advice and make ourselves feel more comfortable about what is expected and what are the requirements.
I thinks what we worked on our communication skills and the way to have a good eye-contact with an audience will be very helpful. I will apply this in my studies but more generally in my life. The ability to be a great communicator can be a big differenciator in a career.
The Company
It was really really structured. We had a clear schedule and it was easy to see the link between all the sessions. It was a mix of presentations of divisions, soft skills trainings, interactive sessions and networking opportunities.
The general atmosphere was really good. The classmates were very nice, proactive and collaborative. We actively participated in every session and asked questions of general benefit. It was really fun and enjoyable.
I think they invest a lot in us. Firstly, the Spring Week is very expensive for them. They provided accommodation to all the people based outside London, paid the travel and the food during the days. It represents a lot when you multiply it by the number of participants. But more generally, they gave us access to their people and their offices which means a lot.
We really talked to a lot of people. It is the best way to really get an idea of the culture/atmosphere at J.P. Morgan. After, we see the interactions between members of the same team, and you can really see that people enjoy working together. It's a real group and not a sum of individuals.
I could really see by myself the values of J.P. Morgan. From the first seconds, you can see why they are the best. It's a mix of excellence in the job and strong cooperation between the people. People really like to work there, they feel happy. You can get it when you talk to them.
We got a lot of information and advice from both operationals and HRs. You can have a good view of the opportunities at J.P. Morgan. It's not just about the work, the environment is super important too, and J.P. Morgan combines the two really well.
Everything Else
We weren't paid during the Spring Week. However, they paid everything concerning the accommodation or the travel. We missed anything during the week.
Yes, there were opportunities for networking. We had tea with senior employees, a career fair, a lunch with analyst and associates among others.
They were great because people were available and happy to share their experience. I really met a lot of people and I am pretty sure that I will see them again in the future.
They have several organisations. By these organisations, they can commit in several social actions. For example, you have mentoring programmes with some schools in London.
Yes, I would recommend the Spring Week of J.P. Morgan to a friend because it's the best way to have a foot in the bank. Indeed, you really see by yourself how the division work, how people interact with each other and you get an overview of career paths and training programs.
