About You
The team were very encouraging and passionate about us, which made the scheme a more enjoyable experience. Having spent an afternoon with a trainee, I was able to experience the work of a trainee solicitor which was an exciting and interesting part. The social at Sky Garden was also very fun!
As I said before, the fact the team were so encouraging and passionate about the scheme really made me feel valued. With staff members, including partners, taking time out of their day to tel us about the work they do, it made me feel like they were genuinely interested in me.
The support from the grad recruitment team and the other staff members was brilliant. We had to do group pitching exercises and at the end were given feedback. The feedback was extremely useful and constructive.
I definitely improved my ability to communicate. This includes knowing when it is appropriate to ask certain questions.
The Company
The scheme was very well structured. Having been given the timetable before was a nice touch that meant we knew exactly what, when, where and with who we would need to be.
Experiencing a London firm is intense, but having the support and kindness from the staff at the office was what really made the whole scheme relaxing. The entire office were all very kind and helpful, which makes such a difference when considering applying to work at a firm.
As the scheme was only two days, I'd say the firm invested time into showing us why we should apply. There was a lot of time invested by graduate recruitment themselves.
Having spoken to a broad range of trainees and other staff members at the firm, I can confidently say I now understand life at the firm. The people I spoke with were very informative and give me a great insight into what I could expect. This is something you dot get without visiting a firm.
The culture of the firm was obvious throughout the whole scheme. This definitely showed me a positive and progressive culture that I would hope to be part of.
For me, it was very useful as I am considering Bristol or London, to start my career. The office itself helped inform my decision along with the activities I took part in.
Everything Else
I was reimbursed travel and paid. Though, accommodation was expensive.
Over lunch or at the Sky Garden, there was plenty of chance.
Excellent - the Sky Garden was amazing! And everyone was very nice.
We were informed on every social aspect of life as an employee. This included societies, sports etc.
I would definitely recommend this to anyone considering the firm, without doing it it is hard to understand whether it is the place for you!
