About You
The Spring into JP Morgan programme was very rewarding and insightful. I enjoyed the fact that instead of closing in on a specific department at a very early stage, you got exposed to every area of the CIB and AWM divisions of the bank. Furthermore, the programme was packed with interactive sessions, Q&As, networking events with senior and junior people.
J.P. Morgan genuinely values their interns - even the ones only doing the Spring into J.P. Morgan. The company spared no expense on accommodation, food or social events, senior execs happily answered questions or gave out e-mails, and everybody we met really appreciated us as a valued part of the company for the week being.
There was a lot of guidance during the week from both HR, the external trainers, the senior and junior people from JP and from peers on both professional and personal subjects. Whatever stupid question you asked, people answered it professionally and insightfully.
At the programme we got a basic understanding of the financial markets and personal development exercises that gave us as much insights as possible during a one-week programme. These skills will definitely help me both during my studies and beyond - whatever career I choose.
The Company
It was structured down to the minute. HR had every speech, session or exercise planned really well and I don't think we missed a time slot once. You always new what was up next and we got talked through the activities at the beginning/end of the day.
JP had a super chilled atmosphere - it was evident that everybody you talked to geniunely enjoyed working there and that reflected on the spring-week as well. People were nice, the exercises were fun and engaging.
We had some super valuable sessions on presentation and branding skills as well as understanding of financial markets. I felt this was a big part of the programme that you could leave the programme and take something with you even though you maybe don't want to enter banking or JP Morgan.
Networking sessions made the tipping point here. Honest to got people talked broadly from their experiences and it was a unique insight.
Again, networking sessions alongside the overall feeling around the programme gave a great insight to company culture.
It helped a lot. I'm not sure yet, but I definitely have the firepower to be able to make an informed decision. Something I didn't have before.

We were reimbursed for flights to London, transportation within London and accomodation
Excellent. We met new people everyday from all levels and divisions with different insights.
Again, excellent. Thinks it goes with the above answer .
We had a short intro on BRGs and philantropy on the very first day, and it seemed like there was a lot of opportunities here. However, a broader overview might have been nice in terms of social, sports etc.
Absolutely yes. A unique insight for anybody thinking of pursuing a career in finance.
