About You
Overall was a very interesting and useful week with a large construction company with a great reputation. [This section of the comment has been removed by a member of the RateMyPlacement Team because it did not meet our site terms and conditions] was very helpful giving advice.
It was really useful to spend 4 days, however a longer placement would be more beneficial in terms of gaining more knowledge.
There was a good level of support from a range of people involved across the week, for the general support and also the work shadowing.
The skills gained will help more with the process of getting a job after my degree more than the actual content of my degree course.
The Company
Good structure and well organised and planned.
It was a good environment to learn in and was nice and relaxed.
Mace were interested in taking us forward and trying to help us with getting graduate jobs and improving CV’s etc.
Certainly did help with this, it felt like being a Mace employee when doing the work shadowing which was good.
Yes this was useful and we learnt about the company values and targets and the culture of the company.
This was useful and helped me decide I didn’t want to be a QS and was more suited to a CM or PM.
Everything Else
I am yet so send these details across.
Yes there were a few opportunities however it was better during the work shadowing as this was more of a one on one chat.
There were a few opportunities to network during the week, however it was quite brief and forced, a more casual sit down chat would have been more useful.
Not as much as I would have liked to, it was more based on what goes on in the workplace rather than outside.
Yes I would recommend it to a friend as it’s a very useful scheme.
