About You
It has been such an insightful week. The people within the bank was awesome and always willing to meet you.
We went through different interactivces sessions, where we learnt how the role of an investmetn banker is. Furthermore, we developed soft skills such as presentation and communication skills, leadership...
The support we had from the HR team was amazing. Constanly asking us how we felt and answering all the doubts we had regarding the recruitment process.
As said before, we were able to develop both hard and soft skills. They are all applicable to my day to day as well as in my uni studies.
The Company
We covered all the divisions the bank has. We had interactive and networking sessions. Everything was on time and organised.
It has been such a good opportunity to make new friends from different countries, cultures... They were all so kindly and nice to others.
Regarding the programme, which was the Spring week, the bank provide us with a clear overview of how the bank works and its culture. The fact of having interactive sessions doing real cases, allowed us to increase our knowledge in important issues such as: M&A, rating and trading.
Throughout the week, we got to know the principles, values and culture of the bank. This is the first step when regarding working in an investment bank. And, we were also able to speak with analyst, associates, VP and MD that explained the differents tasks they do in their daily basis. It was awesome!
The culture of a company normally is reflected in their workers. When looking at Jp workers and listening to them, what they transmit was: integrity, doing the right thing, responsability, focus on clients and commitment with society. I can say that Jp Morgan culture is incredible!
When I did start the week I did not have a clear idea of what I want to do with my future. After the week, I can say that I would love to start my career in banking. We had talks about the different divisions, products offered, I do believe that we can make a huge impact on the society.
Everything Else
J.P. Morgan covered all the expenses related to accomodation and transportation.
It has been one of the most important issues during the week. It has been probably what I liked most from the bank: the fact of being able to get to know personally people that were like us some years ago and their advices over the next steps were quite insightful.
Everyday we had different social events, where we had the opportunity to ask questions, we were taught about the different roles of the bank... We had a networking event with MD and VP which permitted us to listen to people who have been already 15-20 years in the bank.
One of the thins I liked most from JP Morgan was the amount of activities that workers could carry apart from their daily duties. On one hand, there are associations that promote social activities such as volunteering. On the other hand, they also organize trips to the Alps to go skiing, among others.
I have already told my friends to apply for the next Spring week. I do believe that being in the Sping Week into J.P. Morgan has been one of the best experiences in my life.
