Spring Week program Review

This insight experience was extremely important to me. I had already planned to undertake a career in the financial services industry. However, I never had hands-on experience on how the firm operates. Being able to understand different divisions has allowed me to confirm my ambition and make sure what I really want to work on for the rest of my life.

The firm has made me feel like J.P. Morgan's employee effectively. They treated me as one of them, and that has made feel valuable even though I did not have a lot of experience. The firm focused on every detail of the program, making sure that we could make the most out of the experience.

For any query, anyone was very helpful in addressing our problems. Any employee from the firm was always making sure to answers all of our questions as precisely as possible. It was also easy to contact any employees or organizers to ask for advice about any professional or personal problem.

Besides improving interpersonal and technical skills, this experience has consolidated and refined the ideas I had about my future. Having learnt about different divisions, I am determined and conscious about my work in the future. This is I think the most valuable lesson. However, the insight has also equipped me with technical financial skills(e.g valuation models). Finally, this experience also hard-tested communication and presentation skills.

The insight was structured in a very efficient way. There was no waste of time at all. Every minute was an opportunity to learn. Moreover, the insight was structured so that every day we could be exposed to different divisions of the banks. I particularly liked that while there were learning sessions through informative panels, we had to experience the challenges of each division by working interactively together as a team.

The atmosphere was very welcoming, stimulating and professional. Anyone was at our complete disposal for our curiosity and experience. I felt valued because the firm has invested massively in us. We had the opportunity to talk both to senior and junior members of the firm and they were ready to share their best advice on how to succeed in the world of finance.

The firm made sure we had training both for our personal development and for financial technical knowledge and skills. The had professionals talk and test us. The training we received was high-quality from top professionals in the industry. They improved my presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills. In terms of Finance, I improved research skills and selling skills and my knowledge of the industry.

The firm not only prepared me in understanding what is like to work in each division within banking. It has also helped me understand J.P. Morgan's key strength and culture. This is very important to me as I learnt if I fit in their culture and what are the most valued principles. Moreover, I got to understand the daily activities of each employee in each division. This will help me align my strength to the right division.

I got the learn what are the most important principles J.P. Morgan relies on. Many of these principles are very abstract if read online. Being able to experience their culture allowed me to understand if I am a good worker for them and if would like working there in the future.

I think this was the most important takeaway from the experience. I was motivated to pursue a career in Finance. After this experience, not only I am even more determined, I am also convinced about what role I might excel. This has clarified what I want to do and my ideal career path.

I did not have to be reimbursed because I live in London, and I already had everything sorted out.

There were many opportunities to network with employers from the firm. A lot of time was dedicated to networking. There were both junior and senior professional. I think this was very important because they offered different viewpoints on your queries. Everybody was available to give advice and to help you make the best out of the experience.

They were very well organized. They were among the most insightful activities because you get to talk to real people and understand their passions beyond work. Being able to talk in a more informal way, allows you to understand the real problems employers have already faced in the past. This can help me face career challenges in the future.

Yes, the firm has spent a lot of time also focusing on the opportunities J.P. Morgan offers outside work. This has allowed me to understand that in J.P. Morgan you are empowered to have an impact on the world. Whatever interests you, J.P. Morgan lets you have a responsibility empowering you to shape the society.

I would highly recommend this experience to anyone because it allows students to have hands-on experience in finance. This can help students understand what they want to do in life. Moreover, you get to speak to talented students who share similar interests. Finally, you build life-long relationships with like-minded students and employers.
